1upHealth Recognized by MassTLC’s Tech Top 50: Innovation

1upHealth Recognized by MassTLC’s (Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council) Tech Top 50, within the innovation category. MassTLC is the largest tech association within New England, with a network for tech executives, investors and policy leaders. Their focus is to help accelerate companies within the New England Tech ecosystem to allow them to achieve their goals faster.

1upHealth was recognized within the innovation category because of our API platform for patients, providers, and app developers, which enables easy access, aggregation, and sharing of healthcare data. Our platform is built entirely on FHIR, which is now a mandated standard under the ONC’s 21st Century Cures Act Final Rule. This rule will allow patients to securely and easily access their electronic health information from health systems via 3rd-party apps, through patient mediated authorization. This is one of the most significant regulations affecting health plans and systems in the last decade and is an essential standard for making health information exchange and data interoperability less disparate across healthcare.

Additionally, these regulations allow patients to have more power over their own information. By data being more accessible to all, patients not only can have control over the access and sharing of their electronic health records, but they can also have greater control over their own health. Ultimately, our goal is to bridge the gap between patient-centered data and providers’ needs by using patient-generated data to enable apps to improve healthcare outcomes and reduce costs.

We jumped early on FHIR® regulations and quickly established ourselves as a leader in the interoperability space, so that health systems could make it easier for patients and providers to access, aggregate and share EHR data. We are constantly on the lookout for the “next new thing” in order to enable other health systems and developers to innovate quicker. For organizations using our API platform to power their products, we offer solutions to barriers that hinder innovation by providing a more interoperable platform which will reduce time delays and reduce costs.
