Putting Customers at the Heart of Product Decisions

As the new Principal Product Manager of Customer Experience at 1upHealth, I’m beyond excited to begin my journey at this company and to collaborate with the team to build great products for our customers.

My background and product management style

I’ve been in the product management field for the last eight years and have had the honor of building new products from zero to one, and building new features that provide big value to customers. If I could describe my product management style in two words, I’d say it’s “customer-centric.” I believe it’s critical to fully understand what’s top of mind for our customers, and what challenges they’re encountering – all so that we can think of creative solutions to make their lives easier and bring their organizations real value.

Why 1upHealth

I’m particularly excited to join 1upHealth because I’m finally breaking into the health tech space, which is an industry I’ve been very keen on participating in for many years. Similar to most people, I’ve experienced my own challenges in the healthcare space, particularly when it comes to acquiring past healthcare data to make the most informed decisions possible. I love building technology that has a positive impact on peoples’ lives, and I’ve never felt a stronger purpose in a product role than I feel at 1upHealth. 

I’m also excited to join this space because new regulations translate directly into new product opportunities. I’m excited to find ways to support our customers as they prepare for upcoming regulations, and help them gain new value from our product that wasn’t possible before these regulations were finalized. 

As part of the Customer Experience product team, I’m always thinking about what our customers will see and interact with in our product. Right now, our product is pretty technical, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. We’re actively thinking of ways we can introduce intuitive UI for our customers that can provide actionable insights, visibility into data, and new unique value propositions. We want to instill confidence in our customers that they’re not only staying compliant, but that they’re maximizing value from our products and are in good hands when it comes to any new regulations they’ll need to adhere to. 

It’ll be an exciting, challenging, and rewarding next few years in this space, and at 1upHealth, we’re excited to support our customers through each and every step of the journey. 

Teaching about product management and coaching people in tech

Outside of the day to day, I also enjoy teaching people about product management and helping them break into the technology industry. I have a small YouTube channel where I share career insights, and I also enjoy doing one-on-one coaching to help folks land their dream jobs in tech. 

I‘m passionate about this space and am very much looking forward to using everything I’ve learned and applying it to 1upHealth. We’ve got tons and tons of opportunities and I can’t wait to dive in.
