1upHealth’s support for Medicare Blue Button API, featured in the U.S. Congress Report
1upHealth is proud to be the leader in the space of consumer access to health data via The Blue Button Initiative, which aims to “Put Patients First” by enabling simple access to their health records. We are honored to part of the United States Digital Service (USDS) report to congress last fall 2017. USDS continues to produce significant value across the Federal Government, using design and technology to deliver quality services to the American public and one of their current portfolio project is the Blue Button initiative with CMS.
With the new API, 53 million medicare patients will be able to use any application of their choice including 1upHealth to aggregate their Medicare claims data with other supported health systems into a longitudinal health record and share it with anyone including their providers, their family members, researchers or even app developers with their consent. Medicare’s data access will join a growing list of health systems already available to patients and apps using the 1upHealth platform.
