Data technology expert brings deep data and computer science experience to oversee technology strategy and innovation in healthcare interoperability
BOSTON, MA – DECEMBER 7, 2022 – 10 a.m. ET — 1upHealth, a modern FHIR® data platform and health data cloud, announced today that Pieter De Leenheer has joined the executive team as the chief technology officer. Pieter will oversee the company’s technology strategy and capabilities including platform engineering, architecture, data science, technical support, and more.
In his new role, Pieter will grow the engineering team and the technical capabilities across 1upHealth to support the security, scalability, and open data access requirements that the 1up data cloud provides to its customers.

Pieter brings 20 years of deep technical expertise and experience in building next generation technologies that solve critical business problems at scale. Prior to 1upHealth, Pieter was the chief technology officer at ZenOptics, an analytics catalog and governance software company. Pieter also previously founded Collibra, a data intelligence platform where he was the chief science officer for more than 12 years. Pieter managed the growth of Collibra’s technology departments as they raised over $500M in total funding and expanded to over 500 global customers. He has held academic positions at Harvard Business School, Columbia University, and San Diego Supercomputer Center and currently serves as an advisor to the European Commission.
