THE PROBLEM
Approaching the CMS-0057 Deadline
As we approach the Jan. 1, 2027 final enforcement stage for the CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule (CMS-0057), payers are busy developing and testing the required APIs for data exchange with patients, providers, other payers, and PAs. However, developing the required APIs isn’t enough to satisfy the rule’s requirements.
CMS expects additional behind-the-scenes validation. That’s why, for payers, it’s time to move beyond implementation and focus on a critical last-mile step: audit readiness.
