In the recently released KLAS report “CMS Payer Interoperability 2025: Which Vendors Are Payers Relying on to Meet Changing CMS Mandates? (October 2025)”, 1upHealth was recognized as a top performer, earning a score of 87.3.
The report offers an independent view into how vendors are performing as the industry adapts to new interoperability requirements, such as CMS-0057-F, as well as how payers are choosing vendor partners for the future. In this blog, we dig into some of the report’s findings.
FHIR Expertise and Strong Relationships Build Confidence
KLAS found payers value interoperability vendors who combine deep FHIR and compliance subject matter expertise with the ability to build strong relationships.
According to the report, “1upHealth is valued for their FHIR expertise, transparent communication, and ability to anticipate and prepare payers for regulatory changes. Clients say the vendor is committed to bringing the right people to the table, which facilitates strong relationships throughout the company—respondents highlight regular executive interactions and attentive support staff. These qualities lead clients to see 1upHealth as a long-term partner who can help them meet upcoming mandates.”
This level of collaboration has led many respondents to describe 1upHealth as a long-term partner they trust to help navigate future mandates.
One respondent (VP/other executive) noted, “I feel really confident that we are going to be able to meet compliance for the new requirements by partnering with 1upHealth. Their people are very experienced and knowledgeable and can really guide our adoption, not only with meeting compliance but also with using the interoperability to power our programs and improve care management. We feel really confident about our partnership with 1upHealth. . . . [They are] helping us navigate how we can use their AI capabilities to identify the right use cases so we can be successful.”
Health Data Technology Built for What Comes Next
Beyond the strength of our subject matter experts and deep customer relationships, we were a high scorer for the technology we bring to the table.
According to KLAS, “Respondents who mentioned 1upHealth cite the solution’s scalability, ease of use, and modern, FHIR-native architecture. The vendor is also perceived as a top choice thanks to their reputation as a partner who understands and meets evolving CMS regulations.”
Moreover, “Customers say the 1upHealth solution is easy to use, stable, and functional; they also appreciate the reliable upgrades and flexibility, which allows for add-ons (e.g., auditing help).”
Choosing the Right Partner for Your Interoperability Journey
The KLAS recognition validates what we have known from the beginning. Payers need more than a vendor. They need an interoperability partner who understands where the industry is heading and is building and scaling towards that future state.
Healthcare data interoperability will continue to change as CMS and other agencies introduce new data exchange requirements. But compliance is just the beginning. The difference lies in how payers respond – including choosing a partner that is forward thinking with the technology and infrastructure that adapts and drives value beyond compliance.
At 1upHealth, we are proud to partner with payers to lead the way in health data interoperability.
